Black man charged in rape of 92-year-old woman

Johnson County prosecutors have filed 6 charges against a black man in the rape of a 92-year-old woman in Leawood. Simon Angilda, 21, of Grandview, is charged with rape, sodomy, attempted sodomy, aggravated burglary, robbery and battery on a law enforcement officer. The victim was able to get to a phone and dial 911 during the attack at her home. A nearby cruiser arrived quickly, and the assailant punched an officer and ran out the door before officers subdued and cuffed him. Angilda is on probation in Jackson County for an attempted robbery there in 2009.
