Black and Hispanic workers’ incomes trail the average white worker in Columbus, Ohio while Asians out-earn them all

The average white Columbus-area resident earned 9% more than the overall per-capita income of $29,067. A look at other racial groups shows white earners generally ahead of the pack, with blacks earning only 57.5% of the average white resident at $16,721. The greatest disparity was found among Hispanics, who took in only $14,413, slightly less than half the per-capita income for white residents. Per-capita income for Asians in the Columbus area hit $33,002 in 2009, 13.5% ahead of white earners.
