A black man has been arrested in Maine in connection with a 2002 murder in Charlotte

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say a match in the National DNA Database led them to 38-year-old Robert Bell. Bell is charged with murder in connection with the death of Jamie Dunbar, who was found dead inside her home on May 8, 2002. Police recovered DNA evidence from the scene and entered it into the national database. CMPD investigators say a match turned up in late 2010. After obtaining a warrant, CMPD officers went to Portland, Maine, and arrested Bell with the assistance of local authorities.
