Blacks and rape in America

African-Americans commit 46% of rapes in Alabama, 50.4% of rapes in Georgia, 59% of rapes in South Carolina, 44.5% of rapes in North Carolina, 43.6% of rapes in Virginia, 21.8% of rapes in California, and 16% of rapes in Arizona. This includes 91.7% of interracial rapes in Alabama and 88.7% of interracial rapes in North Carolina. Since blacks make up about 13% of the U.S. population this means that they are overrepresented amongst rapists.

  1. Hmmm, what we really need is a state-by-state breakdown of the number of blacks as a percentage of the population.

Now, I know that blacks make up about 7% of the CA population so I can conclude that they strongly over-represented as rapists in CA (by about 3 time or something) I can't make any conclusions about those other states.

It could be that they are 46% of the population of Georgia, for example ...

  2. Not even close to proportional representation. in georgia, they are 30% of total pop, 26% in Bama, 30% of south carolina, 22% in north carolina, and 19% in virginia.

  3. Those figures are useful. Of course, given that they are about 12.5% nationally and 7% in CA (the most populous state) it didn't make sense that their numbers would be so high even in the 'South.' And, in addition, states with 30% or so must be pretty much failed states.

However, the next criticism that could be made is that since whites are a larger percentage of the population (one imagines) black males are more likely to encounter white females than black females when they are inclined to rape. One would need to see all the rape data to evaluate that claim. In addition, it could be that black males do have a higher propensity to rape than white males, but that they are equal opportunity rapists when it comes to their victims, so that if the race of their victims falls in the same proportion as black and white females are in their state, then there is nothing evil there, if you see what I mean.

After all, it could be that rape is part of their culture and it is racist to criticise other people's culture.
