A study of the schools that will take part in the upcoming college football bowl season shows that there's continued academic progress among players on those teams, but it also finds a continued gap between white and African-American players

The report from the University of Central Florida finds that the Graduation Success Rate has improved since last year from 67% to 68% for the student-athletes who play football at those 70 schools. A total of 97% of the schools had at least a 50% Graduation Success Rate. But while the average success rate for African-American players rose from 60% to 61% since last year, it's still far behind the average for white players, which increased from 80% to 81%.
