An illegal immigrant from Vietnam has been sentenced to 140 months in prison for his role in a marijuana-growing operation

Bich Xuan Dang, 39, has pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute more than 100 pot plants on February 22, 2012. Judge Keith P. Ellison handed down the sentence which was enhanced because of Dang’s lengthy criminal record. Dang was arrested at the grow house after a state-federal task force investigation. Officers also seized nearly 300 marijuana plants, grow lamps, ballasts, blower fans, water and air filtration systems and other items that Dang and his organization used to produce the pot. Dang was armed with a semi-automatic pistol when he was taken into custody. He’s been in custody since his arrest and will remain there pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility.
