In New Jersey, African-Americans are 13.7% of the population

Blacks are responsible for 68% of homicides, 46% of rapes, 63% of robberies, 45% of aggravated assaults and 35% of burglaries in New Jersey. Hispanics are 17.7% of the population of New Jersey, but are responsible for 20% or homicides, 30% of rapes, 20% of robberies, 25% of aggravated assaults and 18% of burglaries. Combined, African-Americans and Hispanics in New Jersey are responsible for 88% of homicides, 76% of rapes, 83% of robberies, 70% of aggravated assaults and 53% of burglaries.
