A Dubai father killed his eight-year-old daughter after torturing the girl and her sister with hot irons and stun guns

Hamad Saod Al Sherawi, 29, is accused of abusing sisters Wadiyma, 8, and Meyra, 7, at their home in International City, Dubai. Wadiyma later died, while her sister was left disabled following the abuse by Al Sherawi and his pregnant mistress, Al Anood Mohammad Al Ameri. The couple are accused of using stun guns to torture the youngsters, as well as burning them with boiling water and hot irons. Prosecutors also told Dubai's Criminal Court that the pair locked the girls in the bathroom and closet for hours without food or water. Al Ameri, 27, has admitted all the charges, but Al Sherawi has claimed innocence, insisting that he only hid Wadiyma's body after she died. Prosecutor said that the girls were tortured for up to six months. The pair could face execution by a firing squad if convicted. Prosecutors have charged them with imprisoning and torturing the children, leading to the death of Wadeema. They are also accused of hiding the child's body, burying her without the proper permits, torturing Mira and causing her a 10% permanent disability. Al Sherawi told the court that he did not kill his eight-year-old daughter as the taser gun was not working. He also denied harming his other daughter, claiming that he took her to hospital when he noticed her arm was broken. Al Ameri however, claimed she was the one who hurt Mira. The head of the investigation team, Mohammad Ali Rustom, from Family and Juveniles Prosecution, told the hearing that Wadiyma's body was found in the Al Badayer area of Sharjah. The decomposition of her body made it difficult for a cause of death to be established, but it is thought her body had been there for around three months.
