If illegal immigrants are so good for the economy, why is California in such big fiscal trouble?

California has the largest illegal alien population in the country - 2.6 million, according to the Department of Homeland Security. California has a state budget shortfall for the rest of this fiscal year and next year estimated to be $28 billion. California gets nearly $2.5 billion from illegal immigrants, but that figure does not begin to offset the nearly $6 billion spent for services to illegal aliens in the state. More than 250,000 illegal aliens in the United States have been arrested in the past few years and nearly 50% of them were charged with drug-related crimes.
