Lexington County deputies have arrested a 42-year-old illegal immigrant who’s accused of killing his nephew

Investigators say that Juan Perez-Jeronimo stabbed Diego Alonzo in a house where the two men rented separate bedrooms. According to authorities, the stabbing appears to be related to a financial dispute between the two. Sheriff James Metts says that Perez-Jeronimo is in the country illegally. Metts says that specially trained corrections officers at the county detention center determined that Perez-Jeronimo was born in Guatemala. The correctional officers placed a detainer on Perez-Jeronimo with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
