In Ohio,
total employment for Hispanics rose by 22% to 151,000 from 2007 to 2011, according to an annual report from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. By comparison, the number of employed black Ohioans fell by 13% to 491,000 over the same period, while employment for whites dropped by 7% to 4.64 million. The state does not track employment for its small Asian population.
