Blacks and Hispanics are underrepresented in Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s Cabinet

Emanuel, a Jewish Democrat who was Barack Obama’s former chief of staff, was sworn in as Chicago’s mayor in May 2011. His Cabinet is 63% white, compared to Chicago’s white population of about 32%. The seven highest paid employees in the mayor’s office are all white.
