A black man who walked out of a work release facility has been arrested

Alajuwon Johnson was taken into custody outside a motel. Johnson was serving a five year sentence for shooting and killing a woman in 2009. Johnson later accepted a plea deal, which found him guilty of involuntary manslaughter. Johnson told the police that he accidentally shot the victim with a gun he illegally owned, then did not call police because he was worried about outstanding warrants. Johnson was arrested without incident and has been transported to jail.
