A Hispanic school bus driver was arrested at his Bronx home on charges of downloading and sharing child pornography on a computer in his bedroom

Jose Peralta, 36, is being held on $50,000 bail. He has been charged with 25 counts each of possessing a sexual performance by a child and possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, authorities said. He was also hit with five counts each of promoting a sexual performance by a child and promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child. Investigators used forensic evidence to trace Peralta’s IP address and found that he was currently sharing at least four videos on the Internet file sharing program Ares on his desktop computer, the criminal complaint states. They also found at least 25 videos of minors engaged in sex acts. Peralta — who drives buses for schoolchildren in Queens — is set to be back in court on May 18, 2013.
