Diversity and Neighborhood Satisfaction: More white people, more satisfaction

Researchers investigating the impact of ethnic diversity on individuals’ overall satisfaction with and other aspects of their neighborhood found that a higher white share in the neighborhood raises overall satisfaction with the neighborhood in their sample. The researchers believe that part of the impact of diversity on overall neighborhood satisfaction may be through an effect on a fear of crime and the quality of social life.
