Gunmen have killed eight people in a drive-by attack on the outskirts of Mexico City

The victims were six men and two women. One man was injured, but survived. The incident happened near the industrial suburb of Nezahualcoyotl. It was not immediately clear who was behind the attack, though the area has seen a recent uptick in drug violence. The Mexican government says there have been more than 34,600 drug-related deaths since December 2006.
