Black woman almost stabbed a baby after she was denied bread slices

African-American Kenneshia Thurman knocked on her neighbors' door and asked the young couple for some bread - two slices. The couple refused to give Thurman bread, whereupon the sheriff's office says that Thurman became angry. Thurman tried to keep the couple from shutting their front door, but they eventually closed it. Thurman then returned with a knife, according to police, and tried to force her way into the couple's apartment while swinging the knife at the woman - who was holding her 2-month-old baby at the time. The knife ended up making contact with the baby's forehead, causing a small cut to the youngster's forehead, the sheriff's office says. Several witnesses in the apartment corroborated the same story to police. Thurman was arrested shortly after the incident after a sheriff's deputy found her outside a nearby convenience store. She told police that she accidentally cut the baby while she was trying to stab the kid's mother. The sheriff's office says that the baby's cut was a minor injury and was treated at the scene by paramedics. Thurman was charged with aggravated battery, burglary, and violation of probation and earned a free trip to the Monroe County Jail.
