A black man is wanted on an attempted murder charge for shooting a 17 year old in the head

Police have issued a warrant for Daniel Robert Lott, 32. "I would caution people not to approach him if you see him," Police Chief Mike Tupper said. "He's charged with a violent felony." Mario G. Murrillo, 17, sought treatment for a gunshot wound at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Also injured was Dedrick M. Fisher, 19, an acquaintance of Murrillo's who was with him. Fisher was treated for injuries suffered in a physical fight. Tupper described Lott as "well known" to the police department. Online court records show that Lott has previously been charged with burglary, theft, domestic abuse, criminal mischief and several traffic-related violations. Attempted murder, a Class B felony, is punishable up to 25 years in prison.
