Police investigating a spate of ritualistic kidnappings and sex attacks on male hitchhikers have arrested three women in Zimbabwe

Detectives in Gweru, Zimbabwe, seized 33 used condoms from a suspect vehicle following reports of attacks on men seeking lifts in the town, as well as Harare and Mashonaland West. Reports in Zimbabwe have described the alarming trend of male hitchhikers being offered lifts, but then being drugged and driven to secluded spots by female attackers. The men are then forced into sex with the women, sometimes unprotected and at gunpoint, before the female rapists collect their semen and dump victims by the roadside. Three women have been arrested after police found 33 condoms in a vehicle in Lower Gweru. Midlands police chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Charles Makono said the women came under suspicion after asking officers if they could retrieve the bag of condoms from their car, which had just been involved in an accident. The three women, named as Rosemary Chakwizira, 24, Sophie Nhokwara, 26, and Netsai Nhokwara, 24, all from Mkoba 4, Gweru, were immediately arrested along with the male driver on suspicion of multiple counts of indecent assault. The driver also faces culpable homicide charges after the fatal accident in which a pedestrian was run over and killed. The local police station in Gweru was besieged by an angry mob who wanted to see the arrested trio.

Raj Rajaratnam, a Sri Lanka-born hedge fund tycoon convicted in the biggest Wall Street trading scandal in a generation, was ordered to serve 11 years in prison, the longest sentence ever in an insider-trading case but far less than prosecutors sought

The sentencing caps a prosecution, marked by secret wiretaps of Rajaratnam and his associates, that shocked the investment world. The Sri Lanka-born fund manager once stood atop a $7 billion New York hedge fund, but was found guilty of running a network of informants who supplied him with corporate secrets. The sentence was lighter than the 19-and-a-half year minimum term that prosecutors had sought, and was only slightly more than the 10 years handed down recently to a former Rajaratnam employee at the now-shuttered Galleon Group hedge fund. The judge, in rejecting calls for a tougher sentence, said Rajaratnam, 54, faces imminent kidney failure due to advanced diabetes. He referred to a report from the defence describing Rajaratnam's doctors as recommending dialysis soon. The report said that the doctors had begun the process for obtaining a kidney transplant. Rajaratnam was the key figure of a sprawling criminal case, unveiled in October 2009, that touched some of America's top companies, including Goldman Sachs Group Inc, Intel Corp, IBM and the elite McKinsey & Co consultancy. Prosecutors have placed him in a dubious pantheon of Wall Street power players such as takeover specialist Ivan Boesky and junk bond financier Michael Milken, principal figures in a mid-1980s insider-trading case. Both men served about two years in prison.

A black guy has been arrested for beating a disabled woman

A viral video capturing the savage beating of a disabled woman in front of a California doughnut shop has led to an arrest in the case. Video of the Sacramento incident, which reportedly occurred on October 1, 2011 was originally uploaded to video-sharing site WorldStarHipHop.com. After receiving numerous calls and tips relating to the video, Rasaan Zawadi, 21, has been arrested, Sacramento police said. He was charged with assault with a gang enhancement. The woman is seen wandering in front of Eric’s Donuts shop as the thugs approach her, taunting her and spitting in her direction. Then, without warning, one of them throws a punch, as the cameraman and others are heard laughing. She stands stunned before flying into a blind rage, raising her hand and chasing the assailant, but she’s unable to catch him as he runs off. While she stops to catch her breath, another man approaches. Apparently mistaking him for the original attacker, she springs up to confront him. The second man, much stockier than the first, gets into a fight pose, as the woman cowers in fear. But she stands back up to him, saying, "why you slapping me, huh?" He responds by throwing a sudden left hand with such force that the woman falls to the ground. His face is clearly visible as he walks off. The Smoking Gun reported that the clip was first posted to the World Star Hip Hop site by "Dylan G The Kid," but was later changed to "Rhekidd." The video has more than 600,000 views on the World Star Hip Hop site, and 116,000 on LiveLeak.com. After police were called, the suspects reportedly fled to a nearby apartment building. Cops are examining the video to see if they can identify the suspects.

Over the last few years, at least 400 African children have been abducted and trafficked to Britain and rescued by British authorities

Whether it is through leaflets handed out in High Streets or small ads in local newspapers, witchdoctors and traditional African spiritual healers are becoming ever more prominent in Britain. The work many of them do is harmless enough, but there is evidence that some are involved in the abuse of children who have been abducted from their families in Africa, and trafficked to Britain. According to Christine Beddoe, director of the anti-trafficking charity Ecpat UK, a cultural belief in the power of human blood in so-called juju rituals is playing a part in the demand for African children. Figures compiled by Ecpat, combined with those of the Metropolitan Police and Ceop, the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre, show that at least 400 African children have been abducted and trafficked to Britain and rescued by the British authorities. Testimonies from many of these children have revealed that once they arrive in Britain, they are exposed to violent and degrading treatments, often involving the forced extraction of their blood to be used for clients demanding blood rituals. According to a US State Department report, Uganda has become one of the main source countries for children to be bought and smuggled to Britain. Some 9,000 children have gone missing in the country over the past several years.

New research suggests that the growth rate of the brain's cerebral cortex in babies born prematurely may predict how well they are able to think, speak, plan and pay attention later in childhood

The cerebral cortex is the outer layer of the brain covering the cerebrum, and is responsible for cognitive functions, such as language, memory, attention and thought. "In babies born preterm, the more the cerebral cortex grows early in life the better children perform complex tasks when they reach six years old," said study author A. David Edwards, DSc, of Imperial College in London. "The period before a full-term birth is critical for brain development. Problems occurring at this time have long-term consequences, and it appears that preterm birth affects brain growth." The study found that the faster the rate of cerebral cortex growth in infancy, the higher their scores were on the developmental and intelligence tests as children. A 5% - 10% reduction in the surface area of the cerebral cortex at full-term age predicted approximately one standard deviation lower score on the intelligence tests in later childhood.

Yiddish signs briefly sprouted on Brooklyn trees asking Jewish women to step aside when a man walks down the sidewalk

The plastic signs bolted to trees in the Brooklyn neighborhood of South Williamsburg read, in Yiddish, “Precious Jewish Daughters: Please move over to the side when you see a man cross.” Parks maintenance workers removed 16 of the signs because they were nailed to public-owned trees, a violation subject to a $150 fine. The signs were part of a campaign by a rabbinical group, the Central Rabbinical Congress, that has published other decrees, including one in June 2011 forbidding women to wear tank tops.

A New York rabbi who was on the run from police for more than four years has been arrested in Canada and will soon answer to charges of running a massive immigration fraud mill

Earl Seth David, also known as Rabbi Avraham David, fled to Canada in 2006 when he learned that the federal authorities were probing him for running an operation that churned out fake paperwork for thousands trying to enter the U.S. illegally. He was arrested in Toronto by local police, federal prosecutors in New York said. He will face an extradition proceeding. David ran the scam out of his Manhattan law office and had 26 co-conspirators who helped to create phony sponsors for thousands of illegal aliens, according to an indictment filed in Manhattan Federal Court. "Earl David and his many cohorts corrupted the immigration process through a carefully orchestrated scheme that was stunning in its scope and audacity," U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said. "They allegedly reaped millions of dollars for filing tens of thousands of fraudulent applications." Among those arrested was Robert Salamon, a Department of Labor employee who pleaded guilty previously and was sentenced to 18 months in prison. The mill charged clients fees of up to $30,000 and concocted sponsorship for them by making fake pay stubs, bogus tax returns and even phony experience letters.

A Hispanic suspect in Sunset Park's recent groping has been arrested

Police have charged 26-year old Adolfo Martinez with forcible touching and sexual abuse after Martinez groped an 18-year old woman near a subway station. Police initially ruled out the possibility that the attack was a part of the series of sexual assaults that have taken place in Brooklyn neighborhoods. However, authorities are now saying it is indeed possible and that Martinez fits the geographical pattern. Recently, Federico Chamorro Yax was arrested for a similar assault where he attacked two women also in Sunset Park. He is also being tied to a September 2011 attack where he forced his hand up a woman's skirt near his Bensonhurst home.

A 12-year-old Christian girl was kidnapped and repeatedly raped for eight months in Pakistan by a man who then falsified marriage documents with her

The girl was lured on a shopping trip in Lahore by a friend, before she was driven 120 miles to Tandianwalla and raped by the friend's uncle in January 2011. Two days later, she was forced to sign papers consenting to marriage with the man and beaten for refusing to convert from Christianity to Islam. She was then held against her will for eight months, before managing to escape and contact her family. The Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has said that the rapists have not been arrested because of their affiliation with a militant Muslim organisation - the Lashkar-e-Tayyaba. It claims that the police have refused to order a medical check-up on the girl, and have warned her parents that it would be better for them to hand over the girl to her "legal" husband or a criminal case would be filed against them. An investigation into the kidnapping found the girl's father reported her disappearance in January 2011 and made complaints against her abductors, but police took no action for eight months. In September 2011, the girl - who has not been named for legal reasons - called her family from Tandianwalla and told them she had been abducted, but had escaped and was hiding at a bus stop. The girl's parents travelled to the town and rescued her, before taking her to a local magistrate to give a statement. The rapists then contacted the police through their religious group and produced a marriage certificate that claimed to show one of them was married to the 12-year-old. As a result of their complaint, the Christian family has gone into hiding as members of Lashkar-e-Tayyaba are searching for them. The group claims the girl is pregnant, but her mother has denied this is true. The AHRC said that police never asked the religious group how a 12-year-old could be married. The legal age for marriage in Pakistan in 16. It seems that the Punjab provincial government is patronising banned militant organizations.

Ashkenazi Jewish women face a higher risk of breast cancer

Not only do they have a higher risk of developing breast cancer but they also a higher risk of developing a very aggressive form of breast cancer. Researchers recently discovered that Ashkenazi Jewish women are more likely to have certain alterations in the genes "BRCA1" or "BRCA2" than women in the general population. As many as 1 in 40 Ashkenazi Jewish women (2.65%) might carry one of these alterations, which could put them at higher risk for developing breast and ovarian cancer.

African-American religious leader, Floyd Flake, exploits black college

For five years, the former congressman headed one of the largest churches in the country in Queens while simultaneously running a small college in Ohio - pocketing hundreds of thousands in salary and benefits from both places. Now Wilberforce University faculty members say that he bled them dry, setting the storied black Protestant college on the road to financial ruin. “He came in and looted the place,” said Robert Fitrakis, a lawyer for the faculty who has filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. The faculty is seeking to oust the current board and Flake’s handpicked successor, charging that they have breached their legal and financial duties. The faculty members claim that after Flake became president in 2002, his compensation and perks skyrocketed, he hired cronies as high-priced administrators, he failed to raise enough money and he insisted on a pricey contract with the Princeton Review, where he sat on an advisory board. In his last year at the college, 2008, Flake pulled down a total compensation package of $340,100, which included his salary of $145,833 and a retirement benefit of $149,267. He also had a $45,000 expense account. Almost all of Wilberforce’s revenue, about 90 percent, comes from taxpayer dollars, including federal financial aid and government grants. And Flake earned the outsize salary while working at the college only one day a week, said a faculty member.

A new poll by the authoritative Evolving Strategies firm finds that Herman Cain, Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Mitt Romney would all beat Obama it the election were held today

After seeing this poll, I think Romney should ask Perry to be his running mate since he would be able to get out the evangelical vote that Romney needs to win in the south.

Phyllodes tumors - rare breast malignancies accounting for 0.5 to one percent of all breast tumors - tend to be more prevalent in Hispanic patients

Population-based estimates indicate that the incidence of malignant phyllodes tumors is 2.1 cases per million women, with the highest frequencies in Hispanic women. Hispanics have a higher percentage of borderline and malignant tumors and tend to have larger tumors and higher mitotic rates, the rate at which cells in the tumor are dividing.

The myth of Herman Cain

Jay Raskin points out that Herman Cain was a failure as the CEO of Godfather's Pizza:
If we look at sales figures which are in the public record, sales at Godfather's Pizza, adjusted for inflation dropped over 40% from the year before he took over to his final years. It is hard to imagine that profits went up at this time. Godfather's Pizza fell from the 5th largest Pizza chain when Cain took over to the 11th largest Pizza chain by the time he left the company 15 years later.

Cain bought Godfather's Pizza in a management leveraged buyout. In general, management leveraged buyouts are a device that company managers use to defraud stockholders of company profits. In this case, I believe the only reason there is no fraud in this case is because Cain was unable to produce any profits in the years he was CEO at Godfather's pizza. In other words, it was a fraud scheme that failed due to Cain's inept management.

Many cases of child sacrifice in Uganda are not being followed up by the police and little is being done to protect potential victims

According to a major report released by the charity Jubilee Campaign, around 900 Ugandan children have fallen victim to the practice.

Significant differences in serum steroid hormone levels have been observed in middle-aged African-Caribbean and European men

Compared with Europeans, African-Caribbean men presented significantly higher serum levels of measured bioavailable testosterone, 4-androstenedione, and estrone whatever the age group, of 5-androstenediol in those 40 to 49 and 50 to 59, and of testosterone and dihydrotestosterone in those aged 40 to 49. In contrast, European men aged 40 to 69 showed significantly higher serum levels of dehydroepiandrosterone and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate.

A genetic mutation possibly linked to malarial resistance may have helped drive the evolution of the genus Homo, humans' ancient ancestor

The mutation tweaked one type of sugar molecule, Neu5Gc, produced by early hominids, the first great apes. About 2 million or 3 million years ago, just as human ancestors Homo ergaster and Homo erectus emerged in Africa, a genetic mutation halted the production of this molecule, and the pre-human immune system began to recognize it as a threat. As a result, some hominids would no longer have been able to mate and produce offspring with other populations, potentially driving early humans apart from other apes. "Over time, this incompatibility would reduce and the eliminate individuals with Neu5Gc," study researcher Pascal Gagneux of the University of California, San Diego, said in a statement. Cells communicate with other cells using sugar molecules that stud the outsides of their membranes. One type of sugar molecule is sialic acid, which is found on all animal cells. Until about 3 million years ago, the common ancestors of humans and other apes shared Neu5Gc, a type of sialic acid also known as N-glycolylneuraminic acid. Then, something changed. A genetic mutation stopped production of Neu5Gc in human ancestors, possibly because this mutation helped the hominids avoid strains of malaria that still infect chimpanzees today. Instead, human ancestors with the mutation made a different version of the sialic acid, Neu5Ac. Here's where the immune system comes in: The human ancestor body began to see Neu5Gc as a threat and mounted an immune response against it. That response would have had a major effect on early human reproduction. Researchers tested the idea by exposing chimpanzee sperm, with its Neu5Gc-bearing cells, to human antibodies for the molecule. Sure enough, the antibodies killed the chimp sperm. Female mice engineered to have an immune response to Neu5Gc likewise produced fewer offspring when mated with Neu5Gc-positive males. In other words, a tiny change in one little molecule could have helped drive populations to diverge from one another, as only Neu5Ac-positive ancestors could mate with other Neu5Ac-positive ancestors, and those human ancestors without the mutation were unable to produce as many offspring.

A Hispanic has been arrested after police said that he attacked his 18-year-old son with a sword, accusing him of being lazy and not doing chores around the house

Antonio Gutierrez, 43, was in a heated argument with his son, John, when he picked up a 4-foot-long sword, police said. The son tried to use his hands to defend himself, police said, but his hand was lacerated by the blade and he bled profusely. When officers arrived at the family's residence, the father had left, police said, but he returned several hours later and was arrested and booked on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.

Herman Cain's plan would reduce by 7% the after-tax income of a single person earning $50,000 in wages per year

The plan would reduce by 19% the after-tax income of a family of four earning $50,000 in wages per year and raise by 7% the after-tax income of a single person earning $1 million in capital income per year.

More than 200 British-based Islamic terrorists are currently plotting to carry out suicide bombing attacks in Britain and are likely to strike during 2012's London Olympics, intelligence chiefs have warned

British government ministers have been briefed on the threat by senior intelligence officers from MI5 and MI6 who claim that the figure is a conservative estimate. The information is said to be part of a secret government report on the enduring threat from Al-Qaeda and other Islamic terrorist organizations. It is estimated that there are 2000 Islamic extremists based in Britain currently planning some kind of terrorist activity. Intelligence chiefs say that there is little the authorities can do to prevent a well-organized attack by an Islamic terrorist cell. MI5 has described 2012's Olympics as the biggest security operation in Britain's history. It is feared Islamic extremists will avoid targeting the sporting venues where security will be high and instead attack public areas like train stations. Security experts believe that they may adopt the deadly tactic used in foreign countries where explosive vests are packed with hundreds of ball-bearings and detonated in crowded areas. It is estimated that by using this tactic a bomber could kill up to 20 people in a suicide attack. On 7 July 2005, 52 people were killed and over 700 injured when four Islamic terrorists detonated suicide bombs on the London underground and a bus. The bombs used were homemade, peroxide-based devices which had been packed into rucksacks. Two weeks later a second series of bombings on the London transport network failed when only the detonators of the home-made explosives went off. Muktar Ibrahim, 29, Yassin Omar, 26, Ramzi Mohammed, 25, and Hussain Osman, 28, were found guilty of conspiracy to murder and were each sentenced to a minimum of 40 years' imprisonment. Documents published by the WikiLeaks website suggested that MI6 officers are now bracing themselves for a further wave of suicide bombings. Recently, six Muslims from Birmingham were remanded in custody over a suicide bombing plot. Two of the men, Irfan Nasser and Irfan Khalid have been accused of planning to make home-made explosives and stating their intentions to be suicide bombers. They are also accused of travelling to Pakistan to receive training, making martyrdom videos and plotting a bombing campaign.

Make conditions inhospitable to illegal immigrants and many if not most will leave on their own

States like Alabama shows that it is not as difficult to get rid of illegal immigrants as many liberals would have us believe.

Household incomes in the United States dropped more in the two years after the recession supposedly ended than during it

Household income in the United States fell by 6.7% between June 2009, when the recession officially ended, and June 2011, according to a study by two former US Census Bureau officials. The study also found that household income fell 3.2% during the recession from December 2007 to June 2009. Authors of the report, Gordon W. Green Jr and John F. Coder, described the slump as a significant reduction in the American standard of living. The full 9.8% drop in income from the start of the recession to June 2011 is found to be the largest in several decades, according to other Census Bureau data. That reduction occurred even though the unemployment rate fell just slightly to 9.2% in June 2011 compared with 9.5% two years earlier. The main reasons cited that have stopped salaries increasing in the study are that the number of people not working or not job seeking has risen. The rate of pay per hour of employed people has also failed to keep pace with inflation, as prices of oil and food have inched higher. Green and Coder, who both worked at the Census Bureau for more than 25 years also found that income declined substantially for households headed by people under age 62, but rose 4.7% for homes headed by those aged 65 to 74 who were not working. Family households generally saw greater drops in income than other households, and men living alone experienced a bigger decline than women living alone. The type of employment also made a difference, the study showed. Incomes dropped by 4.3% in households headed by private-sector wage workers and 3.9% for government-sector workers. Self-employed people were hit hardest with a 12.3% decline. In a separate study, Henry S. Farber, an economics professor at Princeton University in New Jersey, found that people who lost jobs in the recession and later found work again made an average of 17.5% less than they had in their old jobs. Farber says that he does not think the recession has ended and people who have lost jobs are having more trouble than ever before finding new ones. He said that this downturn was fundamentally different from previous ones. In the recession, the average length of time a person who lost a job was unemployed increased to 24.1 weeks in June 2009, from 16.6 weeks in December 2007, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Since the end of the recession, that figure has continued to increase, reaching 40.5 weeks in September 2011.

Writer points out that Obama's sole talent always has been in self promotion, topped by his winning a vapid presidential campaign in which he convinced voters he was a unifying, if not messianic, figure

She says that Obama's central problem is that most Americans understand him to be a flop.

Is it worse now than during the Great Depression?

The United States economy was quietly making enormous strides during the 1930s with Americans getting a better education and industrious entrepreneurs inventing television, mass marketing refrigerators, and improving railroads. Today, no major industries are arising to pull the nation out of the current economic crisis. In addition, giant industries like finance, health care, and housing are spending huge sums of money on things that won't create jobs. Plus, the United States isn't following other rich countries and increasing its share of people with 4-year college degrees. Of course, this last point may have something to do with the fact that both political parties seem determined to flood the country with low IQ immigrants from Third World countries such as Mexico.

Predominantly black Detroit has once again been named America's most dangerous city

Islamic terrorists are driven as much as by sexual frustration as they are by a desire to crush the non-Muslim West, according to a New Jersey-based U.S. federal prosecutor who for many years has studied the Middle East

Ken Ballen has spent years interviewing hundreds of Islamic terrorists and found many were drawn into the hands of Al Qaeda and the Taliban through forbidden love or from having a dysfunctional family. Ballen cites the case of two Saudi teenagers he dubbed the jihadi Romeo and Juliet. Abdullah and Maryam fell in love but when he failed to raise the $30,000 dowry demanded by Maryam's father, she had to marry an older man. The couple went to Iraq and became jihadists with the idea that if they died for the cause they would be reunited in heaven.

The illegal immigrant who owned a cat at the center of a row within the British cabinet was a shoplifter

The Bolivian man, who overstayed his student visa and whose case was highlighted at the Conservative Party Conference, was cautioned in 2007 after stealing from Debenhams in Oxford Street, London. He was arrested after admitting to the theft of four items of clothing that he tried to conceal while in the store's changing rooms. Despite the offense, however, he could not be expelled from Britain for the crime. Foreign nationals only face the prospect of deportation if they receive a sentence of more than a year. A judge allowed the illegal immigrant to dodge deportation over fears that separating him from his cat risked serious emotional consequences. The Bolivian not only argued that he would suffer from being separated from his cat, but also that his pet's quality of life would be affected. Immigration Judge James Devitte allowed the Bolivian to stay in Britain under Article 8 of the Human Rights Act – the right to a private and family life. The case had been thought to have involved a man and his girlfriend, but in fact the judgment reveals that the couple are two gay men. The judge heard evidence from the man's boyfriend's siblings, who confirmed that the pair had lived together for three years and said the Bolivian was regarded as their brother's partner.

An Iranian actress has been sentenced to a year in jail and 90 lashes for her role in a film about the limits imposed on artists in the Islamic republic

Marzieh Vafamehr was arrested in July 2011 after appearing in "My Tehran for Sale," which came under harsh criticism. The film, produced in collaboration with Australia, tells the story of a young actress in Tehran whose theater work is banned by the authorities. She is then forced to lead a secret life in order to express herself artistically. The Fars news agency said that the movie had not been approved for screening in Iran and was being distributed in the country illegally.

An elderly Asian man who killed his wife with an ax before attacking her 32-year-old son will spend the next 26 years in prison

James Che Ming Lu, 87, was convicted in July 2011 of the murder of Michelle Lu, 55, his wife of nine years. James Lu bludgeoned Michelle Lu with an ax in 2009 as she lay in bed in their home in an unincorporated area between Pasadena and Arcadia. Then, he walked down the hallway and attacked her son, who fought him off. The couple reportedly had an ongoing disputes regarding money and the amount of time Michelle Lu spent at work.

Two Hispanic men convicted of killing two people during a shootout at a Boston restaurant, including a chef who was an unintended victim, face sentencing

Emmanuel Pina and Sandro Tavares are scheduled to be sentenced in Suffolk Superior Court. Both face a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. The Latinos were convicted of two counts of murder for their roles in the August 2009 shooting outside Ka'Carlos Bar and Grill in Dorchester. The shooting stemmed from a confrontation earlier inside. Prosecutors say that outside, Pina shot at Jovany Eason, but the bullet missed and went through the restaurant's window. It struck 47-year-old chef Manuel Monteiro in the chest, killing him. Authorities say that Pina kept firing at Eason, striking him several times.

More on the black thug who raped and murdered Meredith Kercher

Unamused provides the sordid details. For example, the savage stripped Meredith and arranged her body for the rape — lifting up her hips, sliding a pillow under them — while his victim was still alive, though losing consciousness, and aspirating her blood onto her own underwear and half-naked body. Meredith sustained 47 wounds, some in self defense, and died from a combination of blood loss and suffocation. According to a pathologist’s report, her death was slow and painful because despite the fact that her throat was cut, the blow did not sever her carotid artery. The African creep was a drug-dealing drifter and native of the Ivory Coast who had been living in Perugia for 15 years. He had a history of burglarizing apartments. He had also been known to harass women and steal from their handbags. Just five days before Meredith’s murder, he was arrested in Milan for breaking into a nursery school to sleep. He was holding an 11-inch knife at the time.

Mexican authorities say that they have found 10 more bodies in the port city of Veracruz, adding to scores of dead there as drug violence rages

Veracruz officials said in a statement that seven bodies had turned up in a pickup truck in a Laguna Real neighborhood on the edge of the city. Three others were found in a separate section called Colinas de Santa Fe. The three bodies had been tossed in the street. The latest discoveries bring to more than 90 the number of killings in the busy port city recently. Veracruz, on the Gulf of Mexico, has been beset by escalating violence at the hands of rival armed groups. The Zetas gang that dominates in the southern state is at war with the so-called Gulf cartel, once its ally, and also appears to have come under attack by traffickers based in the northwestern state of Sinaloa. A group calling itself the Zeta killers announced in a video message that it hopes to wipe out the Zetas, who have terrorized Veracruz residents through kidnapping, extortion and slayings. The Mexican government has announced a military-led crackdown in Veracruz. Navy officials said that they had arrested eight members of the Zeta killers believed to have taken part in the recent carnage, including dumping 35 bodies on a busy street in the community of Boca del Rio, a favorite stopover for Mexican tourists. Naval officials also announced the capture of 12 suspects identified as members of the Zetas. The appearance of the Zeta killers, and the specter of the emergence of armed paramilitaries, has clearly unnerved the government of Mexican President Felipe Calderon. Officials have vehemently denied the presence of paramilitary groups, characterizing the gunmen as common criminals working for one cartel or another. Indeed, there has not been solid proof yet of the rise of death squads that are unaffiliated with cartels.

Illegal immigrant students in broke California will be able to receive state-funded financial aid in 2013 to attend college, under a new law signed by Gov. Jerry Brown

Apparently Jerry Brown thinks it is a good idea to financially reward immigrants who break the law by entering the country illegally.

Child rape and sexually transmitted disease in Africa

In the African nation of Sierra Leone children as young as 3 are being raped and infected with diseases such as gonorrhea. Sexual violence is a public health crisis in much of the world, and women and girls ages 15 to 44 are more likely to be maimed or killed by men than by malaria, cancer, war or traffic accidents combined, particularly in African countries like Sierra Leone, Liberia and Congo. The International Rescue Committee, which runs the rape center in Freetown, Sierra Leone’s capital, says that 26% of the rape victims it treats are 11 years old or younger. Recently, the center said, a 10-month-old baby was brought in for treatment after a rape. The International Rescue Committee rape centers have treated more than 9,000 patients since 2003 — and fewer than one-half of 1% of the rapes have resulted in criminal convictions.

Between 2000 and 2008, annual births increased by only 188,880 — because births to Non-Hispanic whites declined

Births to Hispanic women increased by 225,371 annually and to Asian/Pacific Islanders [API] by 52,642 annually. In this same period, annual births to foreign-born mothers increased by 159,356. Therefore, 84% of that annual birth increase of 188,880 was the result of increased births to immigrants. In 2008, 60% of Hispanic birth mothers and 80% of API birth mothers were immigrants and over half (52.6%) of Hispanic birth mothers were not married. The rates of non-marriage for non-Hispanics are: non-Hispanic whites (28.7%), non-Hispanic blacks (72.3%), American Indians (65.8%) and API (16.9%). Between 2000 and 2008, births to teens declined by 37,180 annually. But births to Hispanic teens increased by 14,644 annually. In California, in 2009, Hispanics accounted for 73% of all teen births (47,811) and 71% of these girls were U.S citizens. Nationally, California has been the epicenter of immigration and many of the Hispanic teen mothers are second and third generation citizens there. In 2009, in California, 43% of new mothers were immigrants and half of total births for the state were to Hispanic women, both native- and foreign-born. Hispanic immigrant workers bring a heritage of negative economic and social characteristics. Their children, many of them U.S. born-citizens, display these same negative economic and social characteristics and their grandchildren display these same negative characteristics.

A new book, Black Racism, White Victims: Reverse Discrimination, Black-On-White Crime And Other Legal Problems, by John Publius, is available on Amazon.com in Kindle E-Book format and as a trade paperback

The ten major types of Black racism include illegal employment discrimination against Whites, Black-on-White crime and various types of casual racism that target Whites for harassment. Although Whites experience these forms of Black racism at work, in school and on the street, many Blacks pretend that Black racism does not exist, and do so for reasons they are careful to conceal from Whites. Both Black racism and the blanket denials that it exists are actually reflections of a covert mindset that legitimizes crimes and other forms of victimization of Whites. Most Whites know little about why this mindset developed, why it persists and who benefits from the conspiracy of silence that denies the existence and practice of Black-on-White racism.

Facebook and the dumb black criminal

A woman whose purse and cellphone were stolen from her car was left completely shocked when a picture of the black suspect appeared on her Facebook page. The woman was contacted by a friend who noticed a strange man's picture on her Facebook wall and with distinctive gold teeth and braids, the black man looked just like the person she had seen near her vehicle before the theft. The woman contacted the police straight away and detectives are now using the picture to hunt for the thief. Major Jason Bolton, of the Henry County police, said: "What we believe occurred is that this person, who potentially stole the phone, was attempting to place a photo of himself on his Facebook page, but the phone was set up to upload to hers." How dumb is this guy that he would use a cellphone that he has just stolen to upload a photo of himself to the Internet?

The black U.S. ambassador to the Philippines has apologized for saying that 40% of male tourists visit the country for sex

Ambassador Harry Thomas sent a cellphone text message to Philippine Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario, who was on a visit to Vietnam, expressing regret for his comments, foreign affairs spokesman Raul Hernandez said. "I should not have used the 40% statistic without the ability to back it up. I regret any harm that I may have caused," Thomas said in the text message, which Hernandez forwarded to journalists. If a white ambassador had done something this stupid, he would probably have had to resign.

Poor African countries that persecute homosexuals will have their aid slashed by the British government in a bid by David Cameron to take his gay rights crusade to the Third World

International Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell has already cut aid to Malawi by £19 million after two gay men were sentenced to 14 years hard labor and he has warned the country's leaders to scrap plans to introduce draconian new anti-lesbian laws. Mitchell, one of Cameron's closest allies, is also threatening to impose further aid fines against Uganda and Ghana for hard-line anti-gay and lesbian measures. Cameron wants to force those countries where homosexuality is still taboo to pursue a pro-gay agenda – and he is ready to reduce aid to some of the world's poorest people in order to do so. The cut in aid to Malawi came after two gay men were convicted in 2010 under the country's rigidly imposed ban on homosexuality. Pop stars Elton John and Madonna joined an international outcry when Tiwonge Chimbalanga, 26, and Steven Monjeza, 20, received a 14-year sentence for getting engaged.

A shocking video has surfaced of a severely autistic Virginia boy being hit, kicked and choked by a black school bus driver and an African-American special education aide

Alice Holland and Mary Evans were both convicted of assaulting Timothy Kilpatrick, who was aged 11 at the time of the attacks in September 2009. Now Timothy’s family have opened a $20 million injury and negligence lawsuit against the Bedford County school board, Holland and Evans. Holland served just one month of a 12-month sentence and Evans served only two months of a 12-month sentence, court records said. Both Holland and Evans ceased to be employed by the county school system soon after the horrific abuse came to light in 2009.

Protestors are rallying against the cruel treatment of chickens that happens in a ritual ahead of the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur

The tradition dates back at least 800 years and calls for believers to wave a live chicken three times over their heads ahead of the arrival of Yom Kippur, Judaism’s holiest day, before slaughtering them. Karen Davis, the president of United Poultry Concerns which advocates the humane treatment of chickens, turkeys, ducks and other domestic fowl, is against the custom. “Rituals practiced by Hasidic Jewish communities where they swing the birds over their head and then slitting their throats, often putting them in garbage cans, putting them in dumpsters,” said Davis.

The public execution of eight Bangladeshi migrant workers in Saudi Arabia has been condemned by a leading human rights group in Bangladesh, Ain O Salish Kendra

The workers were beheaded in public in Riyadh after they were found guilty of killing an Egyptian in 2007. Three other Bangladeshis were sentenced to prison terms and flogging in the same case. More than two million Bangladeshis work in Saudi Arabia. The human rights group points out that often foreign workers don't understand Saudi court proceedings in Arabic and they rarely get lawyers to represent their case. It has urged the Bangladeshi government to offer legal assistance to migrant workers facing trial. The money sent home by migrant workers in Bangladesh plays a crucial role in the country's economy. Amnesty International says that since the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, executions have resumed in Saudi Arabia at an alarming rate. The latest beheadings bring the total number of executions in the country in 2011 to 58, more than twice the figure for the whole of 2010. It says that many of those executed in recent years have been foreign nationals, mostly migrant workers from developing countries. It has called on the Saudi government for an immediate moratorium on executions and to commute all death sentences.

Activists in South Africa have strongly condemned the police for failing to solve the murders of five gay men by a suspected serial killer

The five were strangled or bludgeoned to death in their Johannesburg homes in the past 18 months, reports say. The Commission on Gender Equality said that it was concerned about the police's failure to speedily investigate these alleged hate crimes. Homophobia is widespread in South Africa. This has raised suspicions that the murders were carried out by a serial killer or a homophobic gang, it reports. Police found no evidence of forced entry into the homes, suggesting that the killer or killers knew the victims and had been invited in. The Commission on Gender Equality's spokesman Javu Baloyi said that police should put more effort in their investigations. He said that South Africa's gay and lesbian community was gripped by fear. Homophobia is common in most African countries.

Police are searching for black and Hispanic teenage thugs targeting subway riders in New York City

There have been at least three armed attacks recently. A team of bandits, young enough to still be in high school, is making life quite stressful in NYC. Police circulating surveillance camera stills of four minority teenagers, including one female, working subway stations together, sometimes with a fifth suspect who has not yet been caught on camera. The armed robberies are up to at least three since August 2011, with a total of 10 victims. Police said that the suspects rob other groups of young people of their iPods, jewelry and cash, each time during crowded evening rush hours. The first incident happened August 15, 2011 at around 5 p.m. Police said that the suspects, armed with box cutters, robbed four victims inside the Broadway/LaFayette station. Then on Sept. 24, 2011 at the same station they struck around 7 p.m., robbing three people at gunpoint as they came down the stairs. Police said that on Oct. 1, 2011 at around 7 p.m., the same four, joined by the fifth suspect, robbed three straphangers on a station platform. The victims said that they believed the suspects had knives. All four men are about 5-foot-10 and the female is 5-4. Police said that she has the tattoos “Loved” and “Hated” on her arm. The NYPD said that so far in 2011 crime in the subways is up nearly 17% compared to 2010. Complete descriptions of the suspects as provided by the police are as follows: Black male 17-20, 5-7 to 5-10, 190 pounds, tattoo on right arm. Black male, 17-20, 5-9, 180 pounds, earrings in both ears. Hispanic male, 17-20, 5-10 to 6-feet with braided hair. He has an Eye of Horus tattoo on his neck and spider web tattoo on his left arm. Black female, 18-20 years old, 5-4, 120 pounds. She has the word “Hated” with a picture of a rose and the word “Loved” tattooed on her arm. Hispanic male, 17-20, 55-10 to 6-1, 190 pounds, with a piercing in his right eyebrow.

Three years after two women were kidnapped and brutally raped, the third and final Hispanic defendant in the 2008 rapes has been sentenced to 50 years in prison

Vicente Reyes-Carbajal, 23, had pleaded guilty to armed kidnapping, robbery and carjacking. Prosecutors dropped the rape charge in a deal that capped his sentence at 50 years in prison. The defense argued that Reyes-Carbajal's drug use since age 9 contributed to his delinquency and that he needed treatment. He had sniffed glue and gasoline, he had told a psychiatrist. The women said his past is irrelevant. "It's not our fault what he did as a child," one of his victims said at the sentencing hearing. "What is important is what he did to us. Our lives will never be the same." Police say that on Aug. 16, 2008, Jose Walle, then 13, Rigoberto Moron Martinez, then 20, and Reyes-Carbajal, kidnapped and raped two women from the Docks Bar & Grill in Apollo Beach. Deputies say that the threesome covered the women's mouths with duct tape, kidnapped them in one of their cars, took them to a dirt area near Noonan Road, where the rapes began, then to a Bank of America ATM, to a gas station and, finally, to a field, where the rapes continued. Walle was sentenced to 65 years in prison for the Apollo Beach rapes and 27 years for another in St. Petersburg. Martinez got multiple life sentences for the rapes. The only one left was Reyes-Carbajal, and to avoid another trial, the victims agreed with the plea offer, said Rita Peters, chief of Hillsborough's sex crimes division. Through a Spanish interpreter, Reyes-Carbajal claimed that he repents for everything he did that night. The defense asked for the minimum possible sentence: Just over 16 years. But Circuit Judge Emmett Lamar Battles agreed with the prosecution. He sentenced Reyes-Carbajal to the maximum he was allowed under the agreement. "Mr. Reyes-Carbajal," he said, "you got the only break you're going to get in the case when the state agreed to cap your case at 50 years."

France's run-down city suburbs are becoming separate Islamic societies cut off from the state, a report has warned

Arab communities are increasingly rejecting French values and identity to immerse themselves in Muslim culture and lifestyle, it was found. Muslim pupils often boycott school dinners if the food is not halal and most Arabs oppose marriages to white French citizens, the study by respected political scientist Gilles Kepel revealed. As a result, France – whose five million Muslims make up Europe’s largest Islamic population – was turning into a divided nation, the study called Suburbs of the Republic found.

A Hispanic grandmother has been convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to 35 years in prison for tossing her two-year-old granddaughter to her death from a pedestrian bridge at a shopping mall

In November 2010, Carmela dela Rosa threw Angelyn Ogdoc off a 45-foot-high skywalk like a piece of trash at Tysons Corner Center, Virginia state's largest mall in the busy holiday shopping season. Dela Rosa was upset that her son-in-law, James Ogdoc, had impregnated her daughter out of wedlock, prosecutors said - the couple married shortly before Angelyn was born.

More than half of the suspects charged in London over robbery and knife-point muggings in 2010 were black, official figures have revealed

The Met statistics show that 7,956 people were taken to court for robbery during the 12 months to the end of March 2011 of whom 55% were black. Just under a third of suspects were white, while 11% were Asian. Three out of five of the 1,613 suspects charged with knife-point muggings were also black, compared with 27% white and 10% Asian. The figures, obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, also show that in some of the worst affected boroughs for muggings and knife-point robberies, the proportion of black people charged in 2010 was significantly higher. In Lambeth and Lewisham, for example, three-quarters of those taken to court for robbery were black, while in Southwark the proportion was 69%, although in Westminster black suspects accounted for only 37% of the 495 people charged. Across the capital, 4,363 of the robbers charged were black, compared with 2,166 white north Europeans, 360 white south Europeans and 860 Asians. The rest were Middle Eastern, Chinese, Japanese, south-east Asian or of unknown ethnicity. Separate figures for people charged for knife-enabled robberies - in which a victim is either shown a blade or told that the offender is carrying one - show that 967 of the 1,613 offenders in 2010 were black. That represents 60%.

Hispanic accused of raping a Nashville child was in the country illegally

Davidson County Sheriff Daron Hall says that the Hispanic rapist, Carlos Dalarca-Pagoada, should never have been in Middle Tennessee to begin with. He says that law enforcement in Texas had him custody and let him go. Metro police say that Carlos Dalarca-Pagoada was living at the Village West apartment complex on Tennessee Avenue. He lured a 9-year-old girl to his apartment there and then had sex with her numerous times. Sheriff Hall says that what Dalarca-Pagoada did would never have happened had authorities in San Antonio, Tesas deported him while he was jailed there. Instead, the 46 year old was released on his own recognizance and never showed up to answer an order of deportation. He ended up in Tennessee at the west Nashville apartment complex. "My feeling is when you have contact with someone who is criminally active and illegal in the country, let's do something about it then. The federal government in my opinion failed us in this case," Hall said. Several years ago, Hall implemented the 287-G program in Davidson County, which allows his deputies to check the immigration status of individuals who are arrested. In 2009, local media discovered more than 1,000 illegal aliens in the Mid-South who had been arrested for misdemeanor crimes and were let go by the federal government. They were supposed to show up for immigration hearings, but that never happened. They likely moved somewhere else in the country. "The tragedy is there was contact with him previously in Texas. They had him and let him go," Hall said. The reason for Dalarca-Pagoada's arrest in Texas is not public record. But if he is found guilty in Tennessee, he is likely to serve a long time in prison here.

A new UN report says that one in 50 Central American 20-year-old men will be murdered before they turn 31

The report places much of the blame on violence between drug trafficking groups in recent years, but also notes that the bump in murders coincided with the 2008-2009 financial crisis. The murder rate in Central America had fallen between 1995 and 2005, before heading sharply upward beginning in 2007. It's now "several hundred times higher than in some parts of Asia," notes the report, which is the agency's first report on homicides worldwide. It was reported that 468,000 people were murdered around the globe in 2010; 80% of the killers and victims were men, and the homicides usually occurred on the streets. Female victims were typically murdered in the home, by a family member.

Among women, African Americans account for 86% of new cases of HIV in St. Louis

In 2010, 300 new HIV/AIDS cases came up in the St. Louis area, according to the state health department. Almost two-thirds of those cases were among African Americans.

Racial differences in bone and mineral metabolism

Racial differences in bone mass and structure are apparent early in adolescence, even when accounting for differences in bone size and muscle mass by race. A higher percentage of African admixture is independently associated with higher bone mass and more favorable parameters of bone strength in children and adults. The relationships between 25-hydoxyvitamin D and bone outcomes differs by race, with lower 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels being associated with lower bone quality and higher fracture risk in whites but not blacks. Racial differences in bone mass and strength are apparent early in life, are independently associated with genetic ancestry, and may be partly explained by differences in the relationships between vitamin D and bone metabolism.

Resting metabolic rate (RMR) contributes 60–80% of total energy expenditure and is consistently lower in populations of African descent compared with populations of European populations

European ancestry in African Americans is strongly associated with higher resting metabolic rate.

In the accelerating chronicles of the Democrat's decline, Barack Obama has just achieved a new level of disapproval among American voters

On the 990th day of his presidency, 52% of Americans disapprove of Obama, according to Gallup's latest three-day rolling average. That means Americans now think as little of Obama as they do of Vladimir Putin, the former Russian spymaster and authoritarian tough guy who's expected to become president again over there. Obama's disapproval rate was a measly 15% when he took office in 2009 so full of hope and unbroken promises. Gallup charts have shown it generally trending upwards ever since, especially when the massive economic stimulus spending stimulated the national debt more than new job creation.

In the less-than-three-years Obama has been in office, the federal debt has increased by $4.212 trillion - more than the total national debt of about $4.1672 trillion accumulated by all 41 U.S. presidents from George Washington through George H.W. Bush combined

This $4.212 trillion increase in the national debt means that during Obama’s term the federal government has already borrowed about an additional $35,835 for every American household - or $44,980 for every full-time private-sector worker. When Obama was inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2009, according to the Treasury Department, the total national debt stood at $10,626,877,048,913.08. At the end of January 1993, the month that President George H. W. Bush left office, the total national debt was $4.1672 trillion, according to the Treasury. Thus, the total national debt accumulated by the first 41 presidents combined was about $44.8 billion less than the approximately $4.212 trillion in new debt added during Obama’s term. During Obama's time in office, the debt increased at an average pace of $4.27 billion per day. Were that rate to continue until Obama’s term ends on Jan. 20, 2013, the debt would then stand at about $16.86534 trillion - an increase of more than $6.2 trillion for Obama’s four years. That would equal nearly $53,000 for each American household or more than $66,00 for each full-time private-sector worker.

Obama and Dinkins

Is Obama like New York City's hilariously and calamitously bad black Mayor, David Dinkins? One effect of the Dinkins years is that he was the last Democrat to be elected Mayor of New York City. I wonder if Obama will have the same effect on Democrats when it comes to the presidency?

While blacks make up 3.8% of the FDNY, they make up 61.4% of the Corrections Department

A disgruntled black worker is being hunted by SWAT teams after opening fire at a meeting in a quarry - killing three people and injuring six more

African-American Shareff Allman, 47, opened fire after walking into a safety meeting at a California quarry with a handgun and rifle. He fled the scene at Permanente Quarry in Cupertino and several SWAT teams have been dispatched to find him - searching door-to-door with guns drawn, authorities said. Two people were pronounced dead at Permanente Quarry in Cupertino, and a third person died later at the hospital. Six others at the quarry were wounded and taken to area hospitals. Some of them remain in critical condition.

Four in 10 Americans strongly disapprove of how Obama is handling the job of president in the new Washington Post-ABC News poll, the highest that number has risen during his time in office and a sign of the hardening opposition to him as he seeks a second term

Forty-three percent of independents — a group that Obama spent the better part of 2010 courting — strongly disapprove of the job he is doing. Forty-seven percent of people 65 years of age and older — reliable voters in any election — strongly disapprove of how he is doing his job. Strong opposition to Obama has grown markedly since the start of 2011. All of those numbers point to a simple fact: The “anyone but Obama” crowd is getting larger and more strident in its opinions, while Obama’s base is growing less and less strongly supportive of how he is doing his job.

U.S. public schools suspend black, Hispanic and disabled students at much higher rates than others, according to a new report by a Colorado-based civil rights group

The federal government found that between the 1972-73 and the 2006-07 school years, suspension rates for white students rose from 3% to 5%. Meanwhile, suspension rates for black students rose from 6% to 15% and suspension rates for Hispanic students rose from 3% to 7%. Recent federal findings also show that minority students with disabilities are suspended at a much higher rate than white students. In the 2007-08 school year, 16.6% of black disabled students were suspended, vs. 6.7% of white disabled students. It would be interesting to see what suspension rates were for Asian students but unfortunately that information was apparently not contained in the report.

Police in Barcelona have arrested 39 members of a Chinese mafia and freed 30 young Chinese women whom they forced into prostitution

The arrests occurred after a long investigation. It was the biggest strike to date against Chinese-run mafias involved in forced prostitution in the northeast region of Catalonia, whose capital is Barcelona, said the senior officer, Xavier Cortes, head of the Catalan police unit that fights human trafficking. In recent years, the Chinese crime syndicate had crowded out others from the prostitution market in the fashionable Eixample district of Barcelona by using forced prostitution and charging below-market rates, Cortes said. The women were forced to work in unsanitary conditions and in marathon sessions, seeing eight clients in a row for an hour each, he said. After initial arraignments, a judge ordered 33 of the suspects to remain in prison. Six others were released but remain under investigation, and must check in regularly with authorities, Cortes said. Police are searching for six additional suspects, Cortes said. A total of 17 brothels were dismantled. The suspected Chinese mafia was also involved in document forgery, said Joaquim Frances, of the Catalan police organized crime unit, at a news conference in Barcelona. "In addition to prostitution, the gang also was involved human trafficking," Frances said. "Barcelona was the hub used to later send these people to the United States, Australia and Canada. So for a time, they were kept against their will in Barcelona or nearby until they were provided with documents in order to travel to these countries." In numerous raids, the police seized forged passports from many countries - what Cortes called perfect and very dangerous false documents - as well as the machinery to make them. The Chinese mafia was also involved in drug trafficking, and police seized some weapons in the raids, Cortes added. The Catalan police broke up a forced-labor scheme involving Chinese clothing sweatshops in 2009, freeing several hundred victims and arresting more than 100 suspects. But across the nation, police and non-governmental organizations say the biggest problem of modern-day slavery in Spain is forced prostitution, involving not just Chinese women, but also women from Latin America, North Africa and Eastern Europe. In 2010, Spanish police broke up a ring that tricked Brazilian men into coming to Spain and then forced them to work as male prostitutes.

Alabama's new immigration law has already resulted in an arrest

A man identified as a Yemeni national was arrested after he could produce no immigration papers. The 24-year-old, Mohamed Ali Muflahi, was taken into custody in Etowah County during a drug raid. The Sheriff's Office also seized illegal weapons and other items deemed dangerous. After learning of the arrest, several Alabama state senators drafted a letter to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder demanding that the Justice Department drop its legal challenges to the state's immigration law. The letter requests that Holder launch an investigation into how a citizen of Yemen settled in Alabama without detection or documentation. Yemen is a growing hotbed of Islamic radicalism and an operating base for the Al-Qaeda terrorist network.

Ron Paul and the Hispanics

Rep. Ron Paul gave a sneak peek into how his administration would handle illegal immigrants, telling a Spanish language news program, that he would not kowtow to Latino voters. “If everyone who comes illegally is automatically given citizenship, a vote, and can apply for welfare, that would not be good format because we would have more of it,” said Paul. Paul also offered a different interpretation of the 14th amendment, adding that children of illegal immigrants are not under the jurisdiction of U.S. law and thus should not be given automatic citizenship. He also shrugged off any worries that his message might not appeal to Latino voters who are concerned about immigration reform. “If you think I need to have a different message for Hispanics than I do for other people, I think that’s unnecessary,” said Paul. “I don’t want to punish anyone who belongs to a special group, and nobody should get special privilege either.”

Hormonal contraceptives appear to make women in Africa twice as likely to contract HIV

They also increase the chances of male partners becoming infected, according to a study by researchers from the University of Washington and Seattle. Their results came from tracking 3,790 couples for 18 months in Kenya, Botswana, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. In most instances the women taking part were using DMPA – Depo-Provera, which is a popular injectable contraception in sub-Saharan Africa. Either the man or woman in each couple had HIV - the AIDS-causing virus. The researchers noted which used contraceptives, which didn’t and the rates at which the other member of the couple became HIV-positive. Their results show that women who used hormone-based contraceptive injections were twice as likely to contract and subsequently transmit HIV, as those who didn’t. The researchers suspect that the contraceptive is altering vaginal tissue in a way that’s increasing the possibility of HIV transmission. Around 6% of all women between 15 and 49 in sub-Saharan Africa rely on it – that’s a headcount of around 12 million.

A new CBS News poll finds that nearly seven in 10 Americans believe that Obama has not made any real progress in fixing the economy

Sixty-nine percent say that Obama has not made real progress on the economy, which voters overwhelmingly cite as their most important issue. Only 25% say that he has made real progress. Perceptions are not improving. The percentage who said that Obama has made real progress has dropped 10 points from a survey in 2010, when 35% said that he had made real progress. Just 35% of Americans approve of Obama's handling of the economy, and his approval rating on the issue has been below 40% since February 2011. Fifty-three percent disapprove of his handling of the economy. Obama's overall approval rating now stands at 44% in the CBS News poll. It has not hit 50% or higher since April 2010. Many Americans say that they are disappointed with how little Obama has been able to accomplish. Forty-three percent say that he has accomplished less than they expected, while just 9% say that he has accomplished more than expected. The percentage who says that he has accomplished less than expected has increased 17 points since January 2010. One in two Republicans say that Obama has fallen short of expectations, and 39% of Democrats agree.

Sunni Muslim extremists have opened fire on Shiite Muslims traveling through south-western Pakistan, killing 13 people and injuring seven others in the latest sectarian attack to hit the country, police said

Sunni militants with ideological and operational links to al Qaida and the Taliban have carried out scores of bombings and shootings against minority Shiites over the years, but recent times have been particularly bloody. The gunmen who carried out the latest attack were riding motorbikes and stopped a bus carrying mostly Shiite Muslims who were heading for work at a vegetable market on the outskirts of Quetta, the capital of Baluchistan province, said police official Hamid Shakeel. They forced people off the bus, made them stand in a line and then opened fire, he said. The dead included 12 Shiites and one Sunni, he said. Seven people were wounded - five Shiites and two Sunnis. Shiites blocked the main highway on the outskirts of Quetta to protest at the killings and set fire to the bus which took the dead and wounded to the hospital. Sunni extremists carried out a similar attack on Shiite pilgrims traveling through Baluchistan recently, killing 26 people. Pakistan is a majority Sunni Muslim state, with around 15% Shiite. In the 1980s and 1990s, Pakistan became the scene of a proxy war between mostly Shiite Iran and Sunni Saudi Arabia, with both sides funneling money to sectarian groups which regularly targeted each other. In recent years, Sunni attacks on Shiites have been far more common.

Russian women have become the target of Muslim bombers because they're wearing bikinis

While men show off their muscles and wrestle on the beaches of the Caspian Sea, women in the increasingly fundamentalist Islamic region of Dagestan have been blown up as a warning that they must cover up. Now, nearly all local women seen wading into the sea wear neck-to-ankle flannel dresses and veils. Three bombings this season have targeted women in Dagestan. The only place safe for them to show some skin is in Russia's first Sharia-compliant beach, a gated area in Dagestan that allows women, girls and boys under the age of 6. “First, they make deadly threats for wearing a bikini; next they will want us to stop wearing our shorts and jeans, then ban us from going to restaurants and universities,” complains the manager of a financial company in Dagestan. Terror bombings in the region are on the increase against several targets, from cafes to liquor sellers, seen as defying Islamic Sharia law. Hundreds have been killed in some 200 bombings in 2011.

Jackson was sentenced to 18 consecutive life sentences for crimes committed against four women nearly 30 years ago in the Waldo and Armour Hills neighborhoods of Kansas City. Because of Jackson’s long history of sex crime convictions, Jackson County Presiding Circuit Judge Charles Atwell sentenced him as a prior and persistent sex offender, which means that 14 of the life sentences include no chance of parole. The judge characterized the crimes of the black rapist as horrendous beyond description, and said that Jackson had inflicted unspeakable terror and ultimate indignity on his victims. Jackson has already spent more than 30 years behind bars, all on sexual assault charges. He also was a suspect in a string of rapes in Sacramento, California, in 1983 and 1984. He was first convicted of sexual assault in 1977, when he was sentenced to 15 years for attacking a Kansas City woman in her home. But he served less than six years before he was paroled, and within three months, he committed the first of a series of assaults that led to his latest sentencing. The first four went unsolved, but the fifth attack in March 1984 led to Jackson’s arrest and subsequent 30-year prison sentence. Jackson completed a sex offender treatment program while in prison. He was paroled in 2008, and less than a year later the first of the more recent Waldo attacks took place.

A cache of cooked and and carved human bones has been discovered in Mexico - backing up stories that cannibalism was practiced by an ancient tribe

The bones were found in El Salto, Durango State, northern Mexico, in a cave hamlet built into a cliff. The site - called Cueva del Maguey - dates back to around 1425 and was formerly home to the Xiximes tribe. The archaeological trove included more than three dozen human bones which showed evidence of having been defleshed, cooked and then ritualistically marked with stone blades. Rumors of cannibalism among the 5,000-strong Xiximes have long existed due to the historical accounts of Jesuit missionaries, which labelled the tribe the wildest and most barbarian people of the New World. The Xiximes apparently believed that they could guarantee a good harvest if they consumed the souls of their enemies - often fellow tribesmen from neighboring villages - ate their bodies and hung their bones from trees as offerings to the spirits.

A retired black Florida police officer told police that he got into a funk when he shot and killed his 22-year-old son in the garage of their home after an argument over child custody

African-American Timothy Allen Davis Senior, 47, was charged with first-degree murder after police said that he shot Timothy Davis Junior once in the chest with a handgun at the family's detached house in Apopka. He told investigators that he got into a funk and had lost it by the time he pulled the trigger. David Sr worked for the Orlando police force for 18 years before retiring in 2006 as a lieutenant, while his son was a former high school football star who played as a defensive lineman for the University of Alabama. The pair got into a argument after Davis Jr's ex-girlfriend took their three-year-old son from the home. Davis Sr told his son that he needed to let the courts handle the custody battle, but the younger Davis cursed at his father, tackled him and punched him. The police report states that Davis Sr's wife, Tarsha, broke up the fight before her husband eventually went to retreive his .38-calibre handgun from his car. Davis Sr's nine-year-old daughter told police that she saw her father walk out of the home with a bloody mouth. The girl said that she watched as her father just took the gun and shot her brother. Police arrested Davis Sr when he confessed to the killing. Davis Jr died at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Davis Sr, who currently owns a day care center with his wife called Park Avenue Kids, was treated for a knee injury at Florida Hospital in Apopka before he was taken to the Orange County Jail.

A black fraudster who invented a son so he could claim compensation for his death in the Twin Towers attack is to be freed after serving less than half the maximum sentence

African-American Cyril Kendall, a 61-year-old father of 12, scandalized the United States when he took advantage of charities. In the largest 9/11 swindle, he was given $160,000 after producing a photograph of his fictitious dead son and a birth certificate. He took the American Red Cross for $119,000 and has failed to pay back a dime of the pilfered funds to date. Kendall was sentenced to 20 years in jail for grand larceny and fraud in August 20003. However, he has been approved for early release from the Fishkill Correctional Facility. The date has not yet been set. The parole board's decision was made on September 13, 2011 two days after the 10th anniversary of the terror attack which killed nearly 3,000 people. One of the funds he claimed money from was for grief counseling. Kendall claimed his youngest son, Wilfred, 29, was killed in the terror attacks while attending a job interview on the 91st floor of the north tower.

A Hispanic father has pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment after his teenage son tried to pull out his own teeth with pliers because he hadn't been taken to a dentist and was in so much pain

Francisco Torres, 40, from Pennsylvania, told a Northampton County judge that he procrastinated about getting his 14-year-old son dental care. Police say that the boy tried to pull out his teeth after complaining of pain for several months. He broke two teeth and needed emergency surgery to have the fragments removed. According to court records, Torres' son's pain became so great in January 2011 after complaining about it for months that he felt he had no choice but to pull out his teeth. His father still would not take the boy to a doctor when his mouth wouldn't stop bleeding and the pain persisted. The charge carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison. But under state sentencing guidelines, Torres' prior criminal record means a standard sentence could be six to 16 months in prison. When the judge asked him about his criminal past Torres said that there were some he couldn't remember and some he did not want to discuss in court. Torres told police that he could not take his son to a doctor because he had insurance problems. Police, however, said that Torres had a valid insurance card. Assistant District Attorney Kristine Blake provided information about Torres’ lengthy criminal record which included aggravated assault of a police officer, sexual assault, resisting arrest, making terroristic threats and assaulting a police officer. Torres has seven children, ranging in age from nine to 24.

Aboriginal juvenile crime rates in Western Australia

Figures show that juvenile crime is spiraling upwards and 50% of burglaries are committed by people 18 or under. What is more alarming is that Aboriginal youths represent 61% of those juveniles. Given that Aboriginal people make up only 2% of the population in Western Australia that is a staggering over-representation in that age group. Around 64% of juveniles in custody are Aboriginal and of that group 50% of them re-offend very shortly after being released.

Since 2000, the number of Hispanics who identified themselves as Native American grew from 407,073 to 685,150, according to the 2010 census

This may be due to the increase in immigration from parts of North and South America where there are large indigenous populations.

Oral sex and cancer

The human papillomavirus is contributing to the growing number of head and neck cancers in the United States. A study found that the number of cases of oropharyngeal cancer - cancers of the tonsil, back of the mouth (throat) and base of the tongue - has been on the rise since the mid-1980s. The study suggests that one reason could be an increase in the number of people having oral sex resulting in oral human papillomavirus exposure. Researchers say that these cancers fall into two categories – those caused by tobacco and alcohol and those caused by the sexually transmitted virus, HPV. They now believe that approximately 70% of all oropharyngeal cancers are caused by HPV infection. Researchers tested cancer tissue samples from almost 6,000 patients in Hawaii, Iowa and Los Angeles between 1984 and 2004. They found that HPV-positive cancers increased 225% while HPV-negative oropharynx cancers dropped 50% – most likely because of a reduction in smoking and tobacco use.

Did Barack Obama appear and march with members of the New Black Panther Party as he campaigned for president in Selma, Alabama in March 2007?

This may help to explain why the Obama administration decided to drop its prosecution of the Black Panthers for voter intimidation.

As far as American business is concerned, Obama is a failed president

We are unlikely to see any significant job growth as long as the Obama administration continues to pursue anti-business economic policies.

Jewish power in California

The state of California has now made it illegal for cities such as San Francisco to erect a ban on the primitive and usually unnecessary surgical procedure known as circumcision.

Longevity, self-esteem and ethnic identity

After almost three hours of deliberations, a Washington County jury came back with their verdict in the case of African-American Shandale Maurice Cooper

Cooper was found guilty of first-degree rape, forcible sodomy and first-degree burglary. Cooper was accused of entering the apartment of the victim in March 2009 and beating and raping her repeatedly. Cooper maintained that there was an evening on consensual sex to celebrate his birthday and that he only hit the victim when she came at him with a knife when he was leaving the apartment. The woman had injuries to her forehead, ear, jaw, eye, mouth, chest and legs. On the rape charge, the jury recommended a sentence of life with the possibility of parole. First-degree rape is an 85% crime which means that Cooper will have to serve at least 38 years and 3 months before the black male can be considered for parole.

Pandering to the Jews in Britain

Britain is to get its first hands-free pedestrian crossing – so that devout Jews do not have to break a religious law that prohibits them from using electricity or operating machinery on the Sabbath. The crossing is near a busy synagogue, and pressing a button to operate it is considered a breach of the strict rules that apply to Orthodox Jews. Traffic will be held every 90 seconds from Friday evening until nightfall on Saturday, covering the Jewish Sabbath period. The crossing will be situated on one of London’s busiest roads – the North Circular at the Henlys Corner junction. The system will come into operation in December 2011 when the junction fully reopens after a massive ten-month upgrade costing £8 million. The move follows the controversial formation of an eruv – a boundary recognised by Jewish law within which certain activities are permitted – in the same part of North London. Although observant Jews are allowed to carry household objects such as door keys, and to push prams and wheelchairs within the six-square-mile area, they are still banned from using electricity.

A Hispanic teenager fatally stabbed his ex-girlfriend at school in a brutal attack after punching the girl and pushing her to the ground

Abraham Lopez, 18, stabbed Cindi Santana, 17, at South East High School in South Gate, California, and she died hours later, police said. Lopez was arguing with her during a lunch break - and later caused a hospital bomb scare by saying that he had hidden explosive devices. He stabbed her several times before being subdued by a school official, policeman and a student, who all suffered minor injuries, authorities said. Los Angeles Unified School District police chief Steve Zipperman said that a school dean tried to intervene and realized Lopez had a knife.

Rick Perry and the border

Steve Sailer explains that Rick Perry, like George Bush, will do nothing to protect the border from illegal Hispanic immigration.

The number of Hispanics imprisoned in Oklahoma has grown by 73% since 2004, state officials said

Latinos now represent the fastest-growing segment of the state's inmate population. There have been some highly publicized jailhouse brawls over the past two years involving Hispanics and other racial groups. In November 2009, authorities reported that fights between Hispanics and American Indians broke out at three prisons after prosecutors' announcement that murder charges would be filed against David Allen Tyner, an American Indian, accused of killing a Hispanic man and five others in southwest Oklahoma City. The fights at prisons in Granite, Hominy and Cushing, which authorities believe were coordinated, sent six inmates to the hospital with stab wounds. Shortly after those fights, two American Indians reportedly attacked two Hispanic inmates at a private prison in Lawton. Both of the attack victims were hospitalized with hatchet wounds. In September 2010, a large fight involving Hispanics and American Indians broke out in Hominy, sending another two inmates to the hospital for treatment. Authorities said that the brawls started in different housing units at the same time, leading them to believe the fights were coordinated, as well.

The proportion of Hispanics in the United States with college degrees in 2009 was 19.2%, far lower than the 41.1% figure for the U.S. population as a whole, which indicates an alarming lack of progress

A new report shows that a very limited proportion of Latinos go to college and even fewer earn degrees. All that in spite of the fact that young Hispanics make up the largest minority group in K-12 schools and is the fastest-growing student segment, according to the College Board, which represents more than 5,000 universities in the United States. The education of Latinos in the United States has traditionally been characterized by high dropout rates and a low index of students completing their college studies. In 2009, just 19.2% of Latinos between 25 and 34 had a university degree, while among Asians the percentage was 69.1%, with 48.7% for non-Hispanic whites and 29.4% for African Americans.

Youth gun violence in San Mateo County from 2005 to 2009 cost society an estimated $234 million and was inflicted overwhelmingly on black and Latino youths, usually by other blacks and Hispanics

Young African-American men are 3½ times more likely to be shot and killed than other county residents. Latinos face a 14% higher chance of getting shot than other youths. Both numbers are drawn from statistics tracking gun killings per 100,000 county residents between 1990 and 2009. The perpetrators of these shootings are generally black and Hispanic as well.

A Muslim woman disemboweled her daughter as a sacrifice to God after she became convinced the four-year-old was possessed by spirits

Shayma Ali, 36, stabbed the girl up to 40 times and took out her liver while Koranic verses played in the background. When police arrived at their east London home, Ali was heard chanting: "I seek refuge in God from the curse of Satan". Ali was found covered in blood rocking back and forward in the lounge of her home, with the child's liver on the carpet. She had become obsessed that the child was possessed by a Jinn, a spirit referred to in the Koran which can occupy humans and animals. Ali had become an increasingly devout follower of Islam after a trip to Egypt in 2009. Ali told a psychiatrist that she had been praying when she began to think about sacrificing a child as proof of her love of God and became convinced God wanted her to sacrifice her own child. The four-year-old had suffered 28 exit wounds to her back, but many of the wounds overlapped each other, leading the pathologist to believe that there had been 30 to 40 stab wounds. She had also suffered blunt impact injuries to her head and compression to her neck. Ali admitted manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility. Wearing a burka she sobbed in the dock, flanked by three nurses, as she entered her plea.

Research suggests that most people associate black people with violence and this seems to be universal

But is this really evidence of racism or just common sense?

A Hispanic teenager trying to hang curtains accidentally fell five floors to his death

Yohan Hernandez, 14, was standing on a chair installing a curtain rod at his Bronx apartment window where he lived with his mother and brothers. Police said that one of the chair legs collapsed, tipping Hernandez out of the open window. Despite tree branches breaking his fall, Hernandez died of his injuries in a nearby hospital. If Hispanics were smarter, the boy or his mother would have realized that it is a good idea to close the window before installing a curtain rod when you live on the 5th floor of your apartment building.
