Two black men have been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to sex trafficking of children as part of a prostitution rings run by African American street gangs that used social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook to find clients

Malcolm Jamal Allen, 20, was indicted in April 2011 and Devon Leontae Sutton, 23, was indicted in May 2009, in separate cases. Each pleaded guilty to sex trafficking of children by force, fraud and coercion. Six other defendants indicted along with Sutton have also pleaded guilty and await sentencing in San Diego federal court, prosecutors said. Both prostitution rings forced young women and some juveniles into prostitution, prosecutors said. Many of the juveniles were runaways. Both rings were centered in Oceanside and included individuals associated with gangs such as the Crips.
