A black teenager has confessed to killing his mother in their apartment and then living with the decomposing body for more than a week with his three-year-old brother

According to Miami-Dade Police, officers found the body of Renette Emile, 35, when her boyfriend told them he found it strange that he hadn't heard from her in more than a week. Investigators say the corpse was found in a bedroom. A cause of death has yet to be determined. While her corpse was in the apartment, Kit Durant, 16, is believed to have thrown a party and had started selling things from the home like the TV and other household items. The younger child has now been placed with relatives. A neighbor said that Durant was a troubled boy and his mother had sent him to boot camp after he was arrested for vandalism.
