The U.S. currently gives nearly $3 billion annually to Israel, a figure not including loan gurantess, and almost the same amount to Egypt, which has to be included in the cost of supporting Israel, since it's essentially a bribe for keeping the peace. Our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have cost thousands of American lives and hundreds of billions of dollars; even if these are not in direct support of Israel, which is debatable, they come directly from our involvement in the Middle East.
