The unemployment rate has dropped to 8.6%, the lowest it has been since March 2009

While this is certainly good news, many of these new jobs may be related to the Christmas shopping season and so we may see an increase in the unemployment rate in the new year. Another contributing factor to the lower unemployment rate is the 315,000 people who stopped looking for work and are no longer counted as unemployed. Some 13.3 million Americans remain jobless.

P.S. I give up -- 5 months till social security, an I
ll have to take it early, not wait till 70, as planne.)
