Florida: Asian homeowner holds air conditioning repairman at gunpoint

With a blistering heat wave hitting large swaths of the United States, having your air conditioning break down is no laughing matter. But one Asian resident in Florida went to extreme lengths to make sure his defunct air conditioner was properly fixed – by holding the repairman at gunpoint. Unimpressed with the job the repairman had done, Stan Nguyen pulled out a gun and told the worker that he could not leave until the unit was fixed. The worker had gone round to Nguyen’s home in Deltona to repair the unit. When the worker talked to Nguyen about the air conditioner, the Asian home-owner became irate and refused to pay him, according to Volusia County sheriff's spokesman Brandon Haught. He then decided to hold the repairman hostage until he'd done a better job and pulled out a gun, police said. However, the worker managed to call 911 around 10 pm. The worker escaped unharmed as the police arrested Nguyen. He now faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
