African-Americans and European ancestry

Research indicates that the genetic architecture of African Americans is distinct from that of Africans, and that the greatest source of potential genetic stratification bias in case-control studies of African Americans derives from the proportion of European ancestry. The largest African ancestral contribution comes from the Yoruba followed by the Bantu and Mandenka. According to Razib Khan around 10% of the African American population is more than half European in ancestry.
