A black man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for stalking a Fort Worth woman, then shooting her and another man

Jurors deliberated just 18 minutes before deciding the punishment for 41-year-old African-American Finnis Davis II, according to the Tarrant County District Attorney's office. Prosecutors said that Davis sent 163 texts to victim Saudi Taylor in the 48 hours before the shooting. Taylor said that Davis wanted to pursue a relationship with her, but she wanted nothing to do with him. When she went on a first date with a man named Oscar Roney, the couple returned to see Davis' car outside her home. Prosecutors say that Davis chased the couple and opened fire, shooting Taylor in the leg and Roney behind the ear. Both victims survived. "I can't imagine taking a lady on a date and end up getting shot in the head," said prosecutor Bill Vassar. "It is a miracle both victims are alive."
