A new national survey indicates that the number of Americans who say that things are going badly in the country is on the rise, as a growing number of people believe that economic conditions are getting worse

Only 36% of Americans are optimistic about how things are going in the country. And 63% of Americans say that things are going poorly. Only 19% of people say that the economy is starting to recover. The number who say that the economy is still in a downturn is 39%.
