Asthma and parasitic worms

Scientists have used parasitic worms to identify a new white blood cell that produces a chemical called Interleukin 13 (IL-13) and initiates the early generation of responses that can lead to asthma or other allergic conditions. This discovery made lead to new drugs for treating asthma and other allergic diseases.
