A pregnant black woman and her mother have been arrested after the mother choked a 71-year-old Wal-Mart greeter and the daughter threatened to blow up the store
Ashley Jackson, 21, and Toni Duncan, 49, were at Wal-Mart to have a gift card reloaded and a money order sent away. After the clerk at the customer service desk did not help them, they got mad and walked away. The pair went to leave but were stopped by the greeter, a 71-year-old man, who asked for their receipt. Jackson and Duncan said they didn’t have it and yelled obscenities at the man, calling him a “cracker.” Duncan then pushed a cart into the greeter, grabbed his throat and began choking him. As employees broke up the fight, Jackson went back to the customer service desk and threatened to punch the clerk in the face. She also said that when she tells her boyfriend about the greeter, he won’t be alive. Before leaving the store, Jackson yelled “I’m going to blow up Walmart.” As officers arrived, Jackson was inside a black Pontiac and Duncan was standing outside of it accusing store employees of harassing her. Police asked her what happened but she refused to answer. When they specifically asked if she threatened to blow up the store, Jackson replied, “Yeah, I did, so there!” They were both arrested and brought to the Elyria Police Department where Duncan admitted choking the greeter. She added she wanted to charge the employees at Walmart for harassing her. Jackson was charged with inducing panic and aggravated menacing and Duncan was charged with assault. Because Jackson was pregnant and had two small children with her, both women were released on a summons for Elyria Municipal Court.
