Alexander Yakobson argues that democracy in Israel benefits from the fact that Israeli Jews see themselves as part of a large extended family. In other words, ethnic nationalism promotes democracy while diversity undermines it. Therefore, if the left really supports democracy, they should be promoting mono-ethnic states instead of multicultural ones.
