Hispanic crime: A former Brooklyn middle-school janitor has been convicted of repeatedly raping and sexually abusing an eighth-grade girl

The Latino, Ambiorix Rodriguez, 34, had sexually attacked the girl over the course of five months in 2010 and 2011 in the basement of the Middle School for Marketing and Legal Studies in East Flatbush, where he was the head custodian until his arrest in April 2011. In the first episode, Rodriguez inappropriately touched the girl, who was then 12. The next day, he repeated the offense, and over the coming months he continued to grope , according to prosecutors. Rodriguez, who remains in custody, was convicted of four counts of predatory sexual assault against a child, two counts of second-degree rape and six counts of second-degree sexual abuse. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
