Children sickened by cocaine at predominantly non-white DC public school once recommended for Obama girls

D.C. police have confirmed that a substance ingested by students at a northwest D.C. elementary school was cocaine, according to D.C. Public Schools. Several children became ill when they ingested a powdery substance at Thomson Elementary School, located in the 1200 block of L Street. This is the same school that the Washington Post once recommended as the perfect public school for Obama's daughters. Around 69% of Thomson's 355 students are from low-income families with 40% being Hispanic, 34% black, 22% Asian American and 5% white.
