Black NFL star Cedric Benson has been arrested for assault after attacking a man who lived with him

The 28-year-old running back, who has led the Cincinnati Bengals in rushing for the past three seasons, was arrested in downtown Austin, Texas. He has been released after paying a $10,000 bail bond. It is the second year in a row that Benson has run into trouble in his home state. In summer 2010, he was arrested over a bar fight in the same town. Roger Wade, a spokesman for the Travis County sheriff, said that Benson was arrested on a misdemeanour count of assault with bodily injury with family violence.
