Obama's approval rating has taken a sharp dive in the Democratic stronghold of New York, according to a new survey
A Quinnipiac University poll found that 49% of voters disapprove of the job Obama is doing as president, while 45% approve, marking the first time Obama's approval numbers have been under water in a Quinnipiac poll taken in the Empire State. Obama has seen his numbers drop sharply since a June 2011 Quinnipiac survey in which 57% approved of his performance and 38% did not. The poll's director, Maurice Carroll, said in a statement that the congressional drama over raising the nation's debt ceiling devastated Barack Obama's numbers even in true blue New York.
