A black mother has made history by becoming the first person to adopt her own children in the United States

Yolanda Miller, from Chicago, inspired a 2009 law that was passed in Illinois which allows parents who have lost custody of their children to rehabilitate themselves and regain it. Miller, 49, was a crack cocaine addict who gave birth to ten children while she was addicted to the drug. Her mother adopted them when they were born and lived next door to her daughter. Recently, Miller managed to regain custody of four of her 11 biological children, who range in age from their late teens to mid-twenties. She had one of her children - the youngest - while she was clean.

Wow. So even after getting "clean" she still decided to have another child.
