According to the Center for Immigration Reform, there are 220,000 illegal immigrants living in Massachusetts

Twenty-five percent are on welfare. That means 55,000 are collecting benefits from the state. If each alien gets $1,000 in taxpayer-funded payments, that equals $55 million per month, or $660 million per year. If they get $2,000 in benefits, we’re talking about $1.2 billion. The United States has an estimated 10 million to 12 million illegal aliens. If we approximate that 25% are on welfare as in Massachusetts that would mean up to 3 million are collecting benefits. If each alien is receiving $1,000 in benefits per month, that totals up to $3 billion or $36 billion annually. Double the costs if they get $2,000 in benefits. That doesn’t include schooling, housing, free school lunches, emergency care or incarceration.
