A black church pastor involved in a love triangle with his 21-year-old son hired him to kill his wife, a court has heard

Tracy Bernard Burleson, who shared a mistress with his son William Fuller, is said to have arranged the murder so he could cash in his wife's $60,000 life insurance policy. The 46-year-old and his son were both sleeping with Tyonne Palmer when the execution style killing was carried out. Pauletta Burleson, 56, was shot in the back of the head in the garage of her home in Houston, Texas, in May 2010. Prosecutors said that Fuller pulled the trigger having been paid by his father to kill his step-mother. Details of the love triangle were revealed as Burleson went on trial for the murder of his wife. He faces life imprisonment if convicted. Prosecutors described a sordid love triangle involving father and son who were infatuated with 32-year-old Palmer. They said that Palmer began an affair with Fuller while looking after him when he was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia. But she was also having an affair with his father and seeing both men secretly. Palmer is said to have helped cover up the murder by collecting Fuller after he shot his step mother dead and disposing of the murder weapon. Burleson is said to have nagged his son to help him carry out the murder knowing that he hated his step-mother. Fuller gave evidence against his father and said that their marriage was all but over. Fuller, who faces a murder charge in a separate trial, claims that he was manipulated into carrying out the murder. But lawyers for the black pastor told a jury on the opening day of his trial that his son had framed him for the murder so he could date his mistress.
