Global stock markets took a hit on Labor Day after economic data revived fears that the United States is heading back into recession

Public polls show that the economy and jobs are top concerns, with approval of Obama's economic stewardship at a new low of 26%. Oil prices have fallen to below $86 a barrel as the jobs data suggest that a weak U.S. economy will lessen demand for crude.
